Understanding the environment
Dean hotels combine bedrooms, restaurants, bars, meeting spaces, terraces, gyms and restored architectural features. Guests expect high-quality WiFi throughout, while hotel operations depend on EPOS, card terminals, building management, CCTV, access control and door-key systems. The network therefore has to deliver strong coverage, capacity and separation without compromising the character or operation of each property.
A network built around operations
- Surveyed and designed WiFi around guest, hospitality and operational spaces
- At The Dean Galway, installed 66 access points and eight 48-port PoE switches
- Terminated and tested more than 25 km of CAT6 cabling at the Galway property
- Used a 10 Gb fibre backbone to avoid traditional switching bottlenecks
- Combined multiple dedicated fibre services with an independent backup connection
- Continuously monitored network equipment and handled faults and replacement
Clearer, more dependable connectivity
The Dean Hotels have a managed network foundation that supports both guest expectations and the systems required to run each property. The Dean Galway illustrates the scale of that approach: complete coverage across a 100-bedroom, 5,000-square-metre hotel, with resilient internet connectivity and proactive management designed to keep the hotel operating during an ISP disruption.
