The planned introduction of mobile tablets for care-management software highlighted a wider requirement for reliable WiFi and internet access. Residents, care teams, management and facilities staff all needed dependable connectivity, while healthcare tablets, staff computers, building systems, CCTV and access control required a secure and supportable network across buildings with cabling of different ages and layouts.
A network built around operations
- Professionally tested and qualified every existing CAT5e outlet before deployment
- Installed additional cabling where required for wireless coverage
- Deployed 120 managed WiFi access points and 20 managed network switches
- Unified previously separate local networks under central management
- Provided at least two internet connections from different providers at each home
- Continuously monitored network equipment and investigated faults proactively
